Do you think you’re not intelligent? Here’s why you’re wrong!

In every family, there’s always an overachiever! One who scores well on every test, exams, and wins all the competitions.

You often find yourself thinking something like, ‘He got an A in Science, you only got a B.’ (and with a bit of jealousy) you want to find your intelligence and prove yourself to the world!

It is especially difficult as a child when you’re constantly compared to other children and find it difficult to adjust. However, you must know that you are not any less intelligent!

Your test scores do not define your intelligence!

Your secret to success is to find your intelligence!

Copy of Circular issued by the Army Public School to parents about how every child is unique in his/her own way.

Army public school (Karachi, Pakistan) issued a notice to the parents and students (and stunned both)!

In the notice, the school declared that your child does not have to be good at everything to be intelligent.

An artist or athlete does not have to be good at mathematics. You shouldn’t force your techie kid to pursue arts and so on.

What’s important is to find the intelligence of your child.

Not everyone is perfect, but they are all perfect in their own unique way!

What is your strongest intelligence?

Take a moment and think! If the King of rap, Eminem was forced to become an Engineer?!

Do you think he would’ve done as good as he did as a rapper?

As a world-renowned artist, Eminem has performed and proven himself around the globe! But would he had been internationally famous if he would’ve tried his luck in, say, engineering?!

The truth is, his strongest intelligence is not logical or mathematical. He is music intelligent, which means that he has a way to connect with music. His understanding of the tone, rhythm, and pitch of a sound is better.

On that note, let’s begin with the important question, how to find your intelligence.

How to Find Your Intelligence?

You need to get your hands dirty in different activities and engage in diverse areas of interest to find your strongest intelligence!

Try painting or writing, maybe?

Engage yourself in athletic activities!

Go to a zoo or a garden, and just explore and interact with nature.

Sometimes, you don’t even realize that you’re good at something because you haven’t given it a chance, but you must!

Multiple Intelligence Activities:

For the people who think they are not intelligent, I have good news!

YOU ARE INTELLIGENT!

You don’t know what’s your strongest intelligence ;)
Over 20 years ago, a Harvard professor Dr. Howard Gardner, in his book ‘the theory of multiple intelligence,’ argued that IQ tests only measure the logical and mathematical skills in a person.

He further elaborated that the human brain is much more complex and cannot conclude whether someone is intelligent or not by IQ tests.

He proposed multiple intelligence models in his book including:

1. Linguistic and verbal intelligence: good with words
2. Logical intelligence: math and logic puzzles champs
3. Spatial intelligence: a knack for visualization
4. Body/Movement intelligence: good in sports and movements
5. Musical intelligence: understanding of music and rhythm
6. Interpersonal intelligence: interactive and communication skills
7. Intrapersonal intelligence: self-actualization
8. Naturalist intelligence: enjoy interacting with nature

Interpersonal intelligence

We’ve often met socially awkward people!

Those who feel at home in solitude, and do not like to attend parties and engage in group activities.

While on the other hand, some people love parties and socializing.

They love to engage in discussions and want themselves to be heard. This is the kind with the strongest interpersonal intelligence.

We now categorize this person as an introvert or an extrovert.

Extroverts are the ones with strong interpersonal skills. They love to meet people, make new friends, and socialize. They enjoy being surrounded by friends and admirers and love the spotlight.

Interpersonally intelligent people can easily be found working in fields such as social works, politics, teaching, acting, etc. They often have strong leadership skills and can prove to be fantastic leaders, especially when they believe in the cause

Natural intelligence

Plants in pots

Do you love spending time with your pet cat, dog, or birds?
Does gardening, looking after plants, and caring for them is the most amazing feeling in the world for you?!
If so, then, let me share a secret with you...

You are naturalistic intelligent. Naturalistic intelligent people tend to be good with animals and like to spend time with them, help them and love them dearly while some of them could be perfect garden pals ;) even if they don’t have a big garden or too many plants, they always try to take care of their little ones. Discovering new plants and finding out more about them is an immense pleasure for naturalistic intelligence.

A living example of a naturalistic intelligent person is the story of Pocho and Chito. Chito is a fisherman, who lived in Costa Rica. He spent his days fishing and led a perfectly normal life of a fisherman. The story got interesting when he found Pocho (the crocodile) dying on the Reventazón River banks. Chito nursed the crocodile back to health, and in the process, Chito and Pocho became friends.

Chito grew famous when a picture of him swimming with a crocodile left the world gaping!

Such a person could be none other than a naturalistic intelligent person! ;

What kind of Intelligent are you?!

Intelligence is about finding yourself!

When everyone has refused to accept you. You have got to become your own hero and savior!

Just find your area of interest and excel in it and prove the world wrong in thinking you’re not intelligent. Keep turning new pages! You never know when and where you’ll find the best part of your story!

Best of luck, intelligent people! ;)
